JESUS ON DISCIPLESHIP - Part 10 - CONCLUSION

Two weeks ago, God led me during my quiet time to journal about what Jesus says about discipleship. This grew into a 10-part series on the subject. I am certain there is much more we could explore on this topic. One thing I learned during this series is the vast amount of references Christ made to the many aspects of being His disciple. He provided us with a tremendous amount of guidance, and we have only uncovered a small part.

If you have not read all of these and want to become a better disciple of Christ, you are encouraged to go back and read them. It shouldn’t take you more than 30 minutes, and I believe you will be blessed, as I have been digging into this subject.


PRAYER
Let’s pray.


Dear Lord, thank you for your leadership and guidance on being your disciple. We want to do that, Lord, and each of us has various strengths in this area that needs to be leveraged for your glory and honor. Equally, each of us has shortcomings and weaknesses in aspects of being your disciple. We humbly pray that you transform those issues and make us mature, whole, and healthy disciples of yours.


Help us to:

1. Be totally committed to consistently and obediently following you for the rest of our lives.
   
2. Completely put you first and deny the incessant temptations of our selfish, self-centered sin nature.
   
3. Love you with all our hearts and accept your love for us.
   
4. Love ourselves with your love and use that love to love all with whom we meet.
   
5. Go the distance with you, living consistently in submission and surrender to you.
   
6. Produce results for your kingdom (fruit) that are pleasing to you.
   
7. Carefully and intentionally realize what is required of a true disciple and make those trade-offs.
   
8. Follow your standards, not the world's, and keep an eternal perspective in all things, always.
   
9. Allow your Holy Spirit to work through us to grow others into your disciples.
   
10. Realize that it is you who disciples us and disciples others through us.
    
    
    

CONCLUSION
Lord, you get all the credit, glory, and honor for anything good that comes out of us, your servants, and your disciples. Amen.
