TODAY’S A.C.T.S.

Father God, thank you for the ACTS acrostic that helps us in our quiet times and other times of prayer to connect better with you. Also, thank you for Conversational Prayer and the fact that we can have a dialogue with you. It is a tremendous privilege.


Friends, what follows is an intensely personal time with me and Christ. I share this with you to inspire you to have your own time of A.C.T.S. and conversational prayer. Blessings!


ADORATION
Blessed Trinity, God almighty, I adore you, for you are:

• Pure goodness; you give me a perfect role model in Jesus Christ.
  
• Totally gentle in the way you deal with me.
  
• Infinitely patient, waiting on me to come around in areas you want me to see.
  
  
  

CONFESSION
Lord Jesus, I confess I fall short of the standards you have set for me, and I repent of:

• Allowing fear to drive some of my behavior; I’m sorry for letting that creep into my soul. I will be more courageous and trust more in you.
  
• Being self-centered, thinking of me and my needs more than meeting the needs of others; help me to think less of myself and more of others. I repent of being self-centered.
  
• Trusting in money and financial stability; I repent because it is only you who provide for my needs. My flesh wants to feel secure by having financial means, but the truth is, you and only you can give me the true security of having my needs met.
  
  
  

THANKSGIVING
Christ Jesus, I am very thankful for:

• You being my teacher and our routine of sitting every day in prayer, study, meditation, and journaling. I cherish this time with you. Thank you for the discipline to sit with you for almost an hour every day. It is such a blessing.
  
• Patty, who is my soul-mate, precious earthly partner, and loyal companion. I cherish my wife and am grateful for our marriage and our ministry together to each other. Thank you for Patty.
  
• Sobriety. March 4th, I’ll celebrate 28 years sober, and that is a miracle. All thanks and praise go to you, for it is you who keep me sober and have helped me fully recover and be redeemed from my former hopeless state of existence. Thank you for my sobriety.
  
  
  

SUPPLICATION
Father God, Christ Jesus, Holy Spirit, the triune Godhead, I come before you to ask for certain things this morning:

• May I have a deeper connection with you, where your Holy Spirit fully and completely controls my life all the time, and give me your wisdom in decision-making so that I stay in alignment with your will.
  
• Bless my family; continue to grow Patty and our marriage; lead our daughters to fully surrender their lives to you as their Savior; bless Patty and my extended family and consume all of them with your Holy Spirit, bringing them to yourself.
  
• Bless all the ministries around the world that Patty and I support. Please give them great success, guide their leaders and boards well, and may they make decisions in alignment with your will; please help them to thrive and prosper according to your will.
  
  
  

CLOSING CONVERSATIONAL PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank you for this intimate time with you. Please help me wrap up this journaling time with a passage from your Holy Word.


Dear child, this is one of our favorite verses: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” - Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV).


Yes, Lord, I love this verse. Thank you.


My child, I am with you to the end of your time on earth, and then you will see me face-to-face, and I will be more real than anything you have ever experienced.


Christ Jesus, I look forward to that day. Thank you for this incredible gift of eternal life in you. It is nothing that I deserve and way better than I could have ever hoped or dreamed. Thank you for my relationship with you.


Dear child, I am always with you. You can access me like this anytime throughout your day. Check in with me more often, and you will have greater peace.
